Shihu Bridge in Suzhou

Shihu Bridge is a cable-stayed bridge without backstays carried by a single inclined H-shaped pylon. The span arrangement is 100+35m with 37m deck width. The main girder is lifted and erected in full cantilever method; the box pylon is filled with concrete in stages with the construction of main girder so as to balance the weight of main girder, which is a prominent characteristic of the bridge construction.

The bridge was commenced in November 2002 and completed in November 2003.
